In our Rediscovering Meaning In Our Work retreat conferences, physicians are invited to come together for a few days to explore ways to enhance their health and well being, promote collaborative system change and rekindle enthusiasm for their professional work.

We bring together leading clinicians and researchers from around the world to present cutting edge research and investigate innovative approaches and opportunities with physicians.

Our retreat conferences are experiential and interactive and offer physicians ample time for relaxation and conversations with peers. Music, yoga, art and opportunities to spend time in nature are integrated into our retreats.

In 2016, physicians met at a beautiful mountain resort in Sun Valley, Idaho for a 3 day retreat conference sponsored by the Idaho Osteopathic Physicians Association.  Our speakers included:

Dr. Colin West, Professor of Medicine, Medical Education, and Biostatistics at Mayo Clinic

Dr. Michael Krasner, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

Dr. Joan Halifax, Medical Anthropologist, Director of the Project on Being with Dying, and Founder of the Upaya Prison Project and Nomads Clinic in Nepal

A second Rediscovering Meaning In Our Work retreat conference is scheduled for September 28th and 29th, 2018 at a unique, contemporary venue in Boise, Idaho.  We will welcome:

Dr. Colin West, Professor of Medicine, Medical Education, and Biostatistics at Mayo Clinic

Dr. Michael Krasner, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

Dr. Emiliana Simon-Thomas, Director of the Greater Good Science Center

Testimonial:

"I was very fortunate to attend Dr. Deb Roman's enlightening and thought provoking presentation recently.  I walked away feeling encouraged and validated that my struggles as a solo physician were not unique and that there are practical ways to reduce and manage the physical and emotional burnout that is so prevalent.  I had several opportunities to speak with her one-on-one during the conference and am delighted to have found an unusually warm, compassionate and intelligent friend."  — Dr. Bret B.
