Rediscovering Meaning in Our Work
In 2016, physicians met at a beautiful mountain resort in Sun Valley, Idaho for a 3 day conference retreat sponsored by the Idaho Osteopathic Physicians Association to explore ways to enhance their health and well being and rekindle enthusiasm for professional work.
We brought together leading clinicians and researchers from around the world to present cutting edge research and investigate innovative approaches and opportunities with physicians:
Dr. Colin West, Professor of Medicine, Medical Education, and Biostatistics at Mayo Clinic
Dr. Michael Krasner, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry
Dr. Joan Halifax, Medical Anthropologist, Director of the Project on Being with Dying, and Founder of the Upaya Prison Project and Nomads Clinic in Nepal
If you are interested in bringing a conference retreat to your area, please contact Dr. Deb Roman.
"I was very fortunate to attend Dr. Deb Roman's enlightening and thought provoking presentation recently. I walked away feeling encouraged and validated that my struggles as a solo physician were not unique and that there are practical ways to reduce and manage the physical and emotional burnout that is so prevalent. I had several opportunities to speak with her one-on-one during the conference and am delighted to have found an unusually warm, compassionate and intelligent friend." — Dr. Bret B.
